What this is
A public park getting a second life — and a community with a permanent stake in it.
Derby Disc Golf Park is a project of Friends of Bluegrass Inc., a Kentucky 501(c)(3). We clear invasive growth, replant natives, improve habitat, cut trail, and open access to Goose Creek. Then we hand it to people who will use it every week — beginners, families, league players, school groups — because the surest way to keep land maintained is to give a whole community a reason to walk it.

PE modules and field trip days with local schools, a junior league, starter disc sets put in kids’ hands, baskets donated to schoolyards, and clinics run by professional instructors. Nature, purpose, teamwork, and something a kid can get better at on their own.

A park Louisville already loves — pool complex, tennis courts, an established trail system. Derby Disc Golf Park is one new part of it, and reopening the long-closed Hurstbourne Lane entrance is one of the goals.
